Dallas

Dallas is located in the Central Time Zone in North Central Texas, 30 miles east of Fort Worth, 240 miles north, northwest of Houston, and 300 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico. Dallas is the county seat of Dallas County. Some portions of the city also extend into Collin, Denton, Kaufman, and Rockwall counties.

Dallas, the largest inland metropolitan area in the US without a navigable link to the sea, is a part of the largest metropolitan area in the southern US.

 

NEAR THE CENTER

Most places in North America can be reached by plane from Dallas in less than four hours. Dallas Fort Worth International and Dallas Love Field, which together offer more than 2,200 daily flights, are the two airports that serve it. Additionally, AMTRAK offers daily service from Union Station to Dallas.
